Vintage Butterick Pattern 5708
A beautiful hand made vintage dress by Fiona D who is a long term student of mine and attends the Wednesday evening classes.
Fi made it in printed cotton and the attraction of this pattern is that it can be worn with a few neckline variations.
Vintage Butterick Pattern 5708 –
This vintage dress features a bias cut front and back bodice, it is self lined, and has a gathered full skirt.
There is a side zipper and due to the bulk of the skirt Fiona elected to use a centred zipper- an invisible zipper would not have had the strength to cope with the bulky intersecting side/waist seams.
Fiona plans to enter the National Vintage Fashion Awards coming to Geelong on the 29th and 30th November.
Both Vogue and Butterick periodically re-print their vintage patterns from their catalogue base.
Vogue Vintage Patterns can be found here. Butterick vintage Patterns can be found here.
Why don’t you make up a Vintage Pattern and enter these wonderful awards – it will be a whole load of fun and FASHION !!!!
